Three modern bathroom designs which feature a free standing bath

We are wrapping up another great year of renovating Perth bathrooms, and what a great year it has been. As we approach the end of 2018, our team are looking into the coolest 2019 Perth bathroom trends to see what’s in store. Here’s a few of the trends we are seeing…

Technology is changing the lives of Australian’s throughout the home, from the living room to the kitchen and now we are seeing smart technology make a splash in the bathroom. Next year, we expect to see a lot more smart bathrooms in Perth, making life easier with a simple voice command. These are the 2019 Perth bathroom trends we expect to see.

What We Predict Will Be The 2019 Perth Bathroom Trends

Smart Technology

Smart [bidet] Toilets are becoming increasingly popular and being able to control your heated towel rail, under floor heating and opening and closing your skylight from your smart phone is surely a winner as well.

Whether it’s a sensor tap that turns on with the wave of a hand or asking Amazon’s Alexa to turn the shower on for you at the perfect temperature, dim the lighting and play your favourite shower tunes. Our team’s top pick are the smart mirrors that turn into a TV to give you weather and news updates, making your morning bathroom routine that more interesting.

Warm Things Up With Timber

While timber has always made its way into bathrooms, we are seeing a lot more timber features making their way into Perth bathrooms in 2019, and not just on the floor. Solid timber finishes are a big trend for 2019 in the way of timber benchtops, timberlaminate vanities and even timber detailing on the ceiling. Creating a warm and neutral tone for your bathroom space, a hard wood floor that flows up the wall and onto the ceiling with contrasting white fittings is a popular choice for your 2019 bathroom.

Creating A Space For Your Water

Another 2019 Perth bathroom trends we are seeing is the creation of a ‘water space’. This innovative layout allows you to include more in your bathroom, without compromising on space. We saw this a lot on the popular renovation TV show, House Rules, where the bathtub was within the shower space and contained with a simple glass screen. This trend is great for those looking for a free standing bath, but also want to include a shower space. We love the idea of adding extra light to the space with a skylight or window above the bath.

Smart Storage

If you’ve been watching renovation TV shows like ‘The Block,’ then the term ‘eye level storage’ is probably burned into your brain anytime you visit a new bathroom. This is a trend that has been around for the past few years and we don’t see it going anywhere soon. When bathroom space is more important than ever, eye level storage is a must-have.

Our top tip; incorporate storage behind the mirror for a sleek, well-hidden bathroom feature, that not only makes your life easier, but all that benchtop mess is no longer a problem.

So, there you have it; our bathrooms are not only becoming smarter, but they are becoming more creative and daring. These are just some of the 2019 Perth bathroom trends, but there are loads more and we are excited for what’s to come. We hope these trends have inspired you to begin your bathroom renovation journey in the new year.
